2023 - FREQUENCIES IN ANCIENT CONTEXT - CERAMICS

A project researched and executed in Greece, Mariah Kitner reimagines elements from Hellenic Greek antiquity, drawing from amphora shapes and Attic red figure painting. She explores the connection between brain frequencies and mythology, physically manifesting these frequencies in her works to create a dialogue that transcends time.

2020 - CURRENT - CONTEXT CLAY - CERAMICS

Context Clay was born out of the desire to start a new dialogue around everyday objects, art, and ritual. A passion project turned business by Mariah Kitner, one-of-a-kind artisanal functional items include ceramic mugs, bowls, planters, vases, trays, and pipes. Using these unique objects for everyday tasks allows one to shift their context from "a have to" into a sacred and pleasurable experience. In addition, the physical and visual ceramic reminders for self-care and self-love are drenched in surreal whimsy with natural and architectural influences that can't help but inspire and delight.

2017 -REFLECTED PERCEPTIONS - CURATOR

Mariah's curatorial project was selected as one of 130 projects to be featured in the Black Mirror-themed SPRING/BREAK Art Show, a curator-driven art fair during Armory Week with alternating venues and themes.  Reflected Perceptions aimed to have the viewer walk away with a paradigm shift; to take the tools we use on a day-to-day basis and question the truth of their influence and manipulation in their lives. The show featured six artists who reflect and alter perception through a variety of mediums such as painting, mirrors, projections, and virtual reality.

2017 -THE 50/50 SHOW - PAINTINGS

Each painting in the series is a response to Mariah Kitner's experience of her environment; whether it’s impressions of her urban setting or abstractions of her nature loving imagination. The artist demonstrates surrealistic, expressionist, abstract, pop, and classical approaches of paint using a variety of mediums. Mariah Kitner pulls techniques from artists she admires such as Boucher, Dali, and Ross while experimenting and finding her own style and color theory.
